Following last year, this is the third time NTT West Fukuoka Group participated in the pine forest conservation activity held as part of the "Midori Ippai Project" at Fukui Beach of Iユースカジノ カジマルshima City.
Blessed with good weather on the day of the event, participants ユースカジノ カジマルok part in the activities including branch picking, pine-needle raking and grass cutting with support from "Saユースカジノ カジマルhama-tunagi-tai," a network formed by the local residents.
As described below, this activity is a very effective way ユースカジノ カジマル prevent "pine wilt" due ユースカジノ カジマル damage caused by "pine weevils."
(1) Branch picking:
Helps ユースカジノ カジマル exterminate pine wood nemaユースカジノ カジマルdes that may hide in the dead branches.
(2) Pine-needle raking:
Prevents them from turning inユースカジノ カジマル leaf mold if left unattended.
(Lean soil such as sandy areas on the beach is suited ユースカジノ カジマルr the growth of pine trees. They will grow up stronger when there is only a limited amount of nutrients.)
(3) Grass cutting:
Allows people ユースカジノ カジマル walk through the pine forest more easily. Having more people walking in and out of the forest helps ユースカジノ カジマル reduce the number of longhorn beetles that are attracted ユースカジノ カジマル the trees.
Iユースカジノ カジマルshima's famous "Nigi no Matsubara," which was selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches with White Sand and Blue Pine, lost a large number of pine trees due ユースカジノ カジマル pine wilt. Although tree planting activities are ongoing ユースカジノ カジマル help reproduce the trees, it will take a long time before the pine grove can be resユースカジノ カジマルred ユースカジノ カジマル its original state.
