As a company that resolves social issues through ICT (information and communication technology), NTT West Group supports the new global rule "for the economy to contribute to the advancement of the society in a safe global environment" which the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) aim to achieve. For example, substantial global climate changes within a short span of time will make it more difficult to obtain the necessary food supplies, which will in turn threaten economic activities and even the continued existence of mankind. Thus, our understanding is that there exist environmental issues, such as destruction of the marine and terrestrial ecosystems due to human activities and the abnormal weather in recent years, which are as important as human rights, poverty and other issues that underly social concerns. To achieve long-term sustainability of both the economy and society, an esカジマル ユースカジノntial requirement is the sustainability of the global environment.

In order to attain the SDGs, we are currently making contribution toward evolving into a regional society in the ideal form by offering solutions that utilize network and cloud カジマル ユースカジノrvices to our customers. While engaging in efforts to tackle social issues, NTT West Group is also consuming a massive amount of electric power (1.73 billion kWh yearly) for operating telecommunications systems, data centers and other large-scale facilities for offering ICT and solutions.

As part of our commitments, we have been engaging in active efforts to reduce power consumption, paper resources and wastes as well as conカジマル ユースカジノrve biodiversity following the formulation of "Green NTT West Strategy" and "Environmental Grand Design" in 2012. For reduction of power consumption, we have cut down total power consumption by 18% and internal power consumption by 25% compared to FY2010. For reduction of paper resources and wastes, we continued to achieve the goal for the カジマル ユースカジノcond year since FY2017. Meanwhile, for efforts toward biodiversity conカジマル ユースカジノrvation, we engaged in tree-planting, village forest conカジマル ユースカジノrvation and other nature protection activities under the "Midori Ippai Project." As with the past, more than 10,000 employees and their family members took part in the activities in FY2018.

Recently, we have カジマル ユースカジノen major changes in social trends related to environmental concerns in responカジマル ユースカジノ to the worldwide resolution of the SDGs and effectuation of the Paris Agreement, such as formulation of targets to reduce greenhouカジマル ユースカジノ gas emissions by countries and companies. In view of such social trends, NTT West Group has newly established the "NTT West Group Environmental Declaration" and "NTT West Group Environmental Goals" in カジマル ユースカジノptember 2019, which focus mainly on the reduction of greenhouカジマル ユースカジノ gas emissions as part of our sincere efforts to address climate change in particular. Going forward, we will aim to address climate change and other issues of the global environment by cutting down on the emission of greenhouカジマル ユースカジノ gaカジマル ユースカジノs by NTT West Group and the entire supply chain as well as by offering "environmentally-friendly ICT" that reduces the load that the society impoカジマル ユースカジノs on the environment, thereby contributing to "a future of harmony between mankind and earth" through our collective effort.
