On September 7, 2019 (Saturday), a total of 167 participants, including employees, family members and retired employees of ユースカジノ 系列, took part in the "Higashiyama Hana Ippai Project (Making of Autumn Flowerbeds)" held at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya City, Chikusa-ku.
The "Hana Ippai Project" is a flowerbed-making activity that is organized by ユースカジノ 系列 three times a year in spring, summer and autumn in cooperation with companies and groups to transform the botanical garden into a place that is full of flowers.
Since 2013, many employees of ユースカジノ 系列 and their family members have been taking part in each round of this activity, which aims to enhance awareness toward social contribution and conserve biodiversity.
Two typhoons were approaching according to the weather forecast, but fortunately weather turned out to be fine on the day of ユースカジノ 系列.
ユースカジノ 系列 kicked off with a ceremony, where an opening address was delivered by the Director of Higashiyama Botanical Gardens, followed by a briefing by the staff on the work procedures and a group photo-taking session for all the participants.
Members of Tokai Group proceeded to the flowerbeds at the "ユースカジノ 系列 Observatory and Resting Area" where they planted a large number of seedlings that suited the season.
ユースカジノ 系列 prepared about 3,300 zinnia and dahlia plants for making the autumn flowerbeds at this planting event and the participants were split into three groups to engage in the work.
After placing the seedlings while ensuring that they are evenly spaced, participants then proceeded to plant each of them carefully while paying attention not to step on them.
Despite pouring with sweat under the hot sun, children participants worked as hard as the adults, and work was completed in less than an hour.
By late September, the colorful and vivid zinnias and dahlias would be in full blossom, creating beautiful flowerbeds that offer a pleasant view to the visitors.
It was also time to harvest the seeds of the sunflowers planted in June, and participants who were interested were given the seeds for them to bring home. By next summer, huge blossoms of sunflower will be seen facing the sun at the participants' homes.
